How the paid boards work
Six steps, and the whole thing is one rule: the money behind a listing decides where it sits.
1. Find the business
Cleveland.click keeps a profile for thousands of Cleveland businesses, with its address, phone, hours and website. Search for one, or browse the boards. If it is not here yet, add it.
2. Put $5 behind it
Boost any Cleveland business starting at $5. Every boost moves them up the board. Back a favorite, rally your staff, or help a local business take #1.
Boosts buy placement on Cleveland.click. They are not donations or payments to the business.
3. Watch it move
Boosts add up. A listing’s position in its category is the cumulative total behind it, highest first, and it changes the moment a payment clears. Passing the leader costs only the gap: if #1 sits at $35 and a listing already has $20 behind it, $20 puts it at $40 — $5 clear.
4. Share the spot
Every profile has a share button and its own link. Send it to staff, customers and followers; the page shows the live position, so what they see is what is true when they open it.
5. Rally the people who like the place
A boost is not limited to one person or one payment. Several people can each put $5 behind the same business and every dollar counts toward the same total.
6. Keep competing
A position is always in play. If another business passes yours, add more and pass them back. That is the game, and it is the only game here.
The fine print
- Every payable amount is a whole multiple of $5, checked on the server and not in the browser. Minimum $5, maximum $5,000 per payment.
- A position changes only after Stripe confirms the payment cleared. A confirmation page in a browser is not proof of payment or of position.
- Equal totals are ordered by whoever reached that total first. Two payments landing at once are both credited in full and the board settles wherever the totals put them.
- The amount shown as “what it takes to pass #1” is computed from the board at that second. It is not a reserved slot, and no position is guaranteed for any length of time.
- Refunded or disputed money stops counting, to the cent, as soon as we are notified. See the refund policy.
